We're excited to announce the release of our new step-by-step guidebook on how to authorize Hoffman Professional Services to represent you or your business with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Whether you're a new client or simply updating your current representative, this guide walks you through the process from start to finish with clear instructions and screenshots.

Authorizing us allow our team to securely access your tax information, communicate with the CRA on your behalf, and handle your accounting needs efficiently - saving you time and reducing stress.

Why is this important?

When we're authorized we can act quickly if there's an issue with your account, ensure timely filing, and get the answers you need - directly from the source. It's a key part of making sure your finances are managed with the highest level of care and compliance.

Can't I just sign a form instead?

Unfortunately starting July 1 2025 the CRA will no longer accept signed authorization forms submitted by accountants and representatives. Instead clients need to add their accountants to their personal and business accounts through the CRA's My Account portal. We understand how frustrating this can be, which is why we created this guide to walk you through the process. We are also available to help with this in person for those clients who are not comfortable doing this process on their own.

Future Guidebooks

Hoffman Professional Service is in the process of making similar high caliber, easy to follow, guidebooks to help you navigate the every changing technological landscape of taxes and bookkeeping. We are currently working on a guidebook to set up the CRA My Account portal. Check back to look for it and future releases. Feel free to leave a comment or send an email about other guidebooks you wish to see released in the future.

Download the guidebook today, and let's make tax time a breeze.
